This publication examines the mythology and memory of Black Mountain College in the context of AI and the compromised archive. Black Mountain College was a short-lived utopian experiment that prioritized progressive art education. Many of the original faculty members came from the Bauhaus during the rise of fascism in Germany in the 1930s. We find ourselves in a time of immense social, political, and cultural tension—perhaps another Black Mountain moment. This Riso-printed book is a compilation of field research documentation and a series of art foundations prompts and responses generated with AI.
