working_hours/ is a zine that contains the source code for a time-based poem, which only becomes legible after a user manually transcribes the work as instructed. The poem documents feelings of uncertainty—surfaced and amplified by the pandemic—as anti-Asian violence becomes more frequent and visible; as I wonder if I will be able to see my distant family again; as I begin to feel older than my age.

Tyler Yin is an artist and technologist currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. His work layers themes of perception, obfuscation, and labor into various forms—including zines, processed imagery, and interactive media. He holds a BA in Design | Media Arts from UCLA, and has taught in the Design and Technology program at Parsons School of Design. He is a cofounder and organizer for Tiny Tech Zines.
