An ode to Suối Tiên, the motherland, and modern day pilgrimage – including reflections on religious simulacra and on being a second generation Vietnamese immigrant.

SANCTUARY, is a photo book documenting my first pilgrimage to a very distinct intersection of aesthetic produced by Vietnamese people and for Vietnamese people – an absurd manifestation of Southeast Asian Buddist iconography staged amongst the entirely manufactured landscape of amusement park entertainment architecture.
